Over 9000 -- 8a Contracts set to expire starting Sept 1, 2017
Over $14 Billion 8a Contracts are set to Expire starting Sept 2017 due to over 3000+ 8a Firms who are graduating the 8a program and cannot compete for a follow-on... There are also an additional 6000+ 8a ONLY contracts expiring over the next 24 months.
What does this mean to your business? The Government will is interested in re-awarding these contracts through the same means as it did the first time around 8a Only (Sole Source).
What should you be doing to get your company in front of these opportunities?
Here are a few things to consider when Prospecting:
Identify which contracts are expiring this year.
Determine which contracts fit your service and product offerings.
Pin point who the incumbent is and determine if a relationship already exists.
Identify the dollar amount of the 8a Opportunity and ensure it aligns with your financial capabilities.
Uncover the Contracting Officers, Agency, Contract Specialist, CIO, Construction Superintendent, Facility Manager, etc...
Reach out directly to them to acquire additional information on how the Government intends on awarding the next contract iteration.
Plan, Plan, and keep reaching out...
